LONDON - Wet processing - which includes bleaching, dyeing and printing – is the weak link in bids to reduce the environmental impact of textile supply chains, according to a new report.
The study, by the Planet Tracker financial think tank, says wet processing drives the majority of the industry's negative impact with an estimated 430 litres of water required to produce just one kilogram of fabric.
