TUV SUD announces support for new UK REACH regulations29 May '21

TUV SUD, a German company offering safety, security and sustainable solutions to businesses, has announced that it will provide support with the new registration process and chemicals regulations established by the UK after Brexit. Given this, notifications and registrations of chemical substances made under EU REACH will no longer apply in the UK.

With effect from October 28, 2021, chemical substances imported into the UK in quantities of over one tonne per year will have to be registered in accordance with the new UK REACH. “This applies unless downstream user import notification (DUIN) has been effected,” said Rupert Scherer, REACH expert at TÜV SÜD.

DUIN is the equivalent to the former pre-registration procedure under EU REACH, which was a requirement for making use of transition periods.
