Cotton yarn witnessed higher prices in north India’s markets today as demand improved substantially. Virgin cotton yarn was sold in Delhi and Ludhiana with gain of ₹5-8 per kg. Traders feel that higher cotton prices are also supporting yarn prices. Recycled yarn market in Panipat also noted better buying. Recycled yarn of higher counts also saw price rise.

Delhi market witnessed upward trend as demand improved in last couple of days. Traders now expect better buying in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi as demand of end products is picking up. A trader from Delhi told Fibre2Fashion, “Millers are not agreeing to sell yarn at previous prices as cotton prices have gained in last weeks. Mills will not sell yarn at losses. They are getting support from buyers also for increase in prices.” 30 count combed yarn was traded at ₹375-380 per kg (GST extra), 40 count combed at ₹415-420 per kg, 30 count carded at ₹340-345 per kg and 40 count carded at ₹375-380 per kg, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
