China re-PET feedstock supply has seen obvious changes in 2017-2018. With the implementation of ban on solid waste in China, imports of PET flakes and bottle bales reduced significantly, and total imports dropped from 2.167 million tons to 0.25 million tons. In 2018, some enterprises invested abroad on re-PET chip, and import volumes recovered slightly, but later, due to the inspection of China Customs and lower prices in China, the imports of re-PET chip reduced apparently. In recent two years, imports are mainly some high-end clean flakes.
