Leading apparel retail C&A will open high-tech factory in Germany.
The company has announced plans to open a state-of-the-art apparel manufacturing facility in the German city of Mönchengladbach.
This unit with advance infrastructure will focus on sustainable production.
C&A’s ‘Factory for Innovation in Textiles’ (FIT), due to open this Autumn, will initially focus on manufacturing jeans using the latest digital technologies in a carbon-neutral plant.
As per a report of Ecotextile, C&A is working with scientists from Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, the North Rhine-Westphalia Textile Academy and RWTH Aachen University, as well as pioneering start-up companies, on the new development.
It is pertinent to mention that C&A is also sourcing from India and is working with around 50 Indian apparel exporters and fabric suppliers, including some very well-known companies.
With about 51,000 employees worldwide and over 1,800 stores, the C&A brand is present in 18 countries in Europe, as well as Brazil, Mexico and China.
